How the subscription audit works

Formulas

All money is kept in whole cents and every division is done exactly, then rounded once.

• Charges per year: monthly 12, yearly 1, every 4 weeks 13, every 3 months 4, weekly 52.
• Your yearly cost for a line = price × charges per year ÷ people sharing (1 to 6), rounded to the cent.
• Per month = that yearly cost ÷ 12, rounded to the cent.
• Cost per use = yearly cost ÷ (12 × uses per month). Uses per week become uses × 52 ÷ 12 a month. No uses entered: no cost per use. Zero uses: “Not used”.
• Total per year = the sum of the yearly lines (so the receipt adds up). About per month = total ÷ 12 and about per day = total ÷ 365, each rounded to the cent.
• Canceling saves = the sum of the yearly lines marked Cancel. “Not sure” is added up separately. Biggest is the largest yearly line (a tie goes to the one added first); highest cost per use likewise.

Rounding

Half a cent rounds up; everything else rounds to the nearest cent. Examples: Amazon Prime at $139.00 a year is $11.58 a month ($11.583…). $22.95 a month split six ways is $45.90 a year, and $3.825 a month rounds up to $3.83. $12.00 every 4 weeks is 13 charges: $156.00 a year. The table's monthly column is rounded per line, so it may not add up exactly to the monthly total; the yearly column always does.

These rules are checked by automated tests against a separate reference calculator (62 checks, including every example on this site).

Price policy: verified, varies, enter your price

• Verified (35 services, 101 plans): the list price we read on the company's own page on Oct 11, 2026. Shown with “Price as of Oct 11, 2026” and a link to that page. Prices change often; you can always edit them.
• Varies (3): the company says the price depends on your car, club or offer. We show the “from” price where one is listed, with “Varies, check your bill”.
• Enter your price (36): the official US page was geo-blocked, behind a bot wall or filled in by script for our checker. We leave the price empty rather than fill it from memory or a third-party site.
• Cancel steps (17 services): copied from the company's own help page, with the source and checked date. For the rest we show the “Who bills you?” check instead of guessing a link. See How to cancel.

Not included: taxes, promo and intro prices, family-plan seat math beyond an even split, bank linking, automatic detection, renewal calendars and legal advice.
