How to cancel a subscription
CheckedEvery step below is copied from the company's own help page, checked on .
Who bills you?
Look at your card statement or the email receipt for the charge. The name on it tells you where the cancel button is. Deleting the app or signing out usually doesn't cancel (Netflix and SiriusXM say so on their help pages).
- The charge says APPLE.COM/BILL
- Apple bills you, even for another company's service bought in an iPhone app. Cancel in Apple subscriptions: Apple steps.
- The charge says Google

- Cancel in Your memberships on Amazon. For Prime itself: Amazon Prime steps.
- A phone or internet company, Roku, or a car or retail partner
- The service came in a bundle or through a partner. Contact the company that bills you; the service's own site often can't cancel it.
- The company itself

Everything else
For other services we didn't find official steps we could verify, so we don't link a guessed help page (many guessed links lead nowhere). Start with “Who bills you?” above, then sign in to the company's site and look under Account, then Subscription, Membership or Billing.
If a company makes canceling hard, see your right to cancel and where to complain. To see what all your subscriptions cost a year and print a cancel list, use the subscription audit.
